The Veterans Administration makes provisions for the burial of Veterans
IMPORTANT STEPS TO TAKE WHEN DEATH OCCURS
- Have facility where death occurred or hospice nurse, if death occured at home, call 1-800-300-1655 or 972-241-9100 to request our care team take your loved one into our personal care.
- If death occurs after office hours call 1-800-300-1655 or 972-241-9100 the next day between the hours of 8am and 5pm to schedule an appointment or speak to the Veterans Funeral Provider Specialist.
- If your loved one died in the DFW Metroplex or surrounding North Central Counties and you do not live in the area but need to make arrangements, call 1-800-300-1655 or 972-241-9100 to speak to the Veterans Funeral Provider Specialist.
- Bring to the appointment your loved one's social security card, driver's license and separation papers (DD-214) from the military.
